Hargeysa November 17, 2005 (HAN) – Earlier this month, the republic of Somaliland expelled the EU's liaison officer from the territory saying he had interfered in Somaliland 's internal affairs.

The EU expressed concern on the matter and has been seeking clarification from the Somaliland authorities.

The EU is Somalia 's largest donor and is currently supporting several programs in Somaliland . The projects involve health, education, capacity-building and democracy.
