Addis Ababa, February 13,2003 (WIC)- The European Union hailed the Somalia peace agreement signed in Nairobi 29 January 2004 describing it as a road to a final phase and "a window of opportunity to be seized upon without hesitation".
Ireland, president of the EU, said such agreement paves the way for moving to the third and final phase of the conference.
The European Union also commended the efforts of Somali leaders in order to attain this fundamental outcome by overcoming their differences.
In a press release sent to Walta EU called upon the Somali leaders to ensure the same spirit of positive co-operation during the final phase of the conference.
The European Union also reiterated its full and continuing support to the IGAD sponsored national reconciliation process.
