| Institute Named After Late Abdul Mejid Hussein | |||

Addis Ababa, April 07,2004 (ENA) – The Cabinet of the Somali State Government has decided that the Jijjiga Teachers Training Institute be named after the late Abdul Mejid Hussein. The late Abdul Mejid served as Ethiopia's permanent representative to the UN until his death due to natural causes. The Cabinet made the decision to honor the huge contributions of the late Abdul Mejid to the region and to the nation as a whole, the State's Information and Culture bureau told ENA. The late Abdul Mejid will always be remebered also for his able leadership in establishing the Somali People Democratic Party and in uniting political parties to a common goal, the bureau said. |
