THE FINAL DISMEMBERMENT

Djibouti/Addis Ababa, January 10, 2006 (The Ethiopian Herald/WIC) – The Transport Authority has reportedly been constructing a truck terminal in Djibouti with over eight million birr.

Authority General Director, Kassahun Haile-Mariam, told WIC recently that the terminal being built on 65,000 hectares secured from the Djiboutian government is well under way and will have sufficient number of toilets and bathrooms for the drivers.

Some drivers said on their part that the construction of the terminal would alleviate problems related with theft and security. According to the general director, some drivers have already made an appeal to the Transport and Communications Minister Junedi Sado.

He further stated that efforts are being exerted to alleviate the problems in collaboration with the concerned bodies following the response of the minister, who described the drivers as the development promoters as they are transporting the export and import of the country.
