Universal Peace Federation Honors Dr. Saad Noor As “Ambassador For Peace”.

Washington, April 4, 2006 - Dr. Saad Noor, the Representative of the Republic of Somaliland to the United States, was honored as an “Ambassador for Peace” by the Universal Peace Federation (UPF), North America Chapter. Dr. Noor was recognized for his efforts on behalf of the people of Somaliland and the Horn of Africa in promoting peaceful dialogue, human development and good governance. This special recognition was presented at a UPF forum in Washington DC by Mr. James P. Flynn, Secretary General for UPF North America. The UPF, with chapters in more than 150 nations, promotes interreligious, international and interracial cooperation through its initiatives in good governance, human development, human rights, and peace-building. Ambassadors for Peace are a global network of leaders representing the world’s religious, racial and ethnic diversity, as well as all disciplines of human endeavor. They stand on the common ground of shared values, committed to the path of promoting reconciliation, overcoming barriers, and building peace.
