In the post-liberation period Daud worked with leaders of the House of Elders “Guurti” to organize the 1992 peace conference at Sheikh and the Borama Somaliland National Reconciliation conference held in 1993. At the Borama conference Daud was appointed as the secretary of the Guurti.
