Obama has chosen his running mate
Barack Obama chose his running mate last week. By throwing grandma under the bus in favor of his divisive, racist pastor of 20 years, Obama told the world that he was willing to run to the finish line with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright on his back.
“I can no more disown him than I can my white grandmother, a woman who helped raise me, a woman who sacrificed again and again for me, a woman who loves me as much as she loves anything in this world, but a woman who once confessed her fear of black men who passed her on the street, and who on more than one occasion has uttered racial or ethnic stereotypes that made me cringe,” Obama intoned in that mellow voice of his.
It is astounding that the mainstream media can look at that statement and still gush over Barack Obama’s “major speech on race” as if he were the second coming of Abraham, Martin and John all rolled into one.
Lifelong race hustler Jesse Jackson made statements similar to those Obama attributes to his grandmother years ago, admitting that when he hears people behind him on the street, he is always relieved to find out they are white.
For Obama to compare Jeremiah Wright’s hateful public statements to his grandmother’s private confessions is outrageous. And to liken a “racial stereotype” to the statement that our government created the AIDS virus for the purpose of committing genocide against people of color reveals an incredible lack of judgment on Obama’s behalf.
Do we really want a commander-in-chief who is capable of such incredible rationalization? But let us cut to the chase. The elephant in the living room is this: Barack Obama would not have stayed in this Afrocentric, separatist church run by a paranoid, bigoted leader if he did not subscribe to the rhetoric that was being preached.
His insistence on defending Jeremiah Wright tells us a great deal about what Obama himself believes. Barack Obama is a radical. He believes the government is a tool for redistributing wealth from those who earn it to those who don’t.
He thinks government, which rarely does anything efficiently, could and should dispense health care to 300 million people. He believes our borders should remain wide open and would do nothing to close them. He believes that abortionists should have the right to kill a newborn child who somehow miraculously survives an abortion.
He wants to wave the white flag in Iraq, the central front in the war against radical jihadism, thereby surrendering to forces which will be further emboldened by our timidity, just as they were after Bill Clinton’s misadventures in Somalia. He says we should never have invaded Iraq in the first place, yet in debates he has said he would unilaterally invade a sovereign ally like Pakistan to fight terrorism.
He wants to raise taxes to levels this nation has never seen. His reckless collectivist economic policies would destroy small businesses, make everything more expensive and empower government to have more control over our lives than at any time in our history. Barack Obama has displayed no understanding of the realities of foreign policy, economics or the U.S. Constitution.
His background has not prepared him for the presidency of the United States. In short, he would be a bigger disaster for this country than Jimmy Carter was. And that was before we knew about the theology of his church.
What else does he believe? Reparations for slavery? More billions for communist governments in Africa? Radical global warming initiatives? Given his penchant for crushing taxes, there is no end to the radical, left-wing programs, foreign and domestic, he might unleash on this country.
What we do know is that despite his protestations to the contrary, Barack Obama subscribes to the same outof- the-mainstream views as Rev. Wright. Otherwise, he would not have subjected his family to Wright’s hatred and bigotry for 20 years.
Barack Obama has chosen his running mate, and he will be with him through the remainder of this campaign. His name is Jeremiah Wright.
