University of Burco

Burco, Somaliland, May 10, 2008 - German Agro Action (GAA) recently donated sporting equipments to the faculty and students of  Burco University at a ceremony held on campus.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Mubarak M.Omar from the GAA office in Burco stated these equipments are intended for the benefit of the students at the university during inter-mural sports competitions.

Mubarak Omar also stated the GAA has been involved in several community programmes in Togdher and Oodweyne regions, and are delighted to be able to make this contribution to the students at Burco University.

Farhan Aden, also from the GAA office in Burco stated that sports plays vital role in the well-being of students and are important part of university life.

Speaking on behalf of the university, Hinda Mohamed Jama thanked GAA for their donation which will be used to promote sporting activities at the university.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Ahmed Mohamed Aden, chair of the student council at Burco Univeristy, also thanked GAA for their contribution which he described as the timely, but requested further donations for the female members of the student body.
