Hargeysa, Somaliland, November 15, 2008 (SL Times) - There is no grudge held towards Somalian refugees who fled to Somaliland in the wake of the war that broke out in Somalia in 1990s or in more recent years.

Spokesperson for Somalia 's refugees in Somaliland, Farah Giindhe Hussein said that there is no bad blood between those from the south of Somalia and people of Somaliland .

He said: “The BBC's Somali Service wrongly reported that we are being mistreated and that we were sympathizing with the bombers.”

He also stated in a recent press release that they condemn the events that took place 29th Oct. “We pray for the people who were affected by this terrible tragedy and assure you that they have our full support.”

Mr. Hussein also says he has a lot of praise for the people of Somaliland . “Ever since we fled the civil war and came to Hargeysa, we have been made to feel welcome by the people in Somaliland” he said putting to rest the suspicions that there is tension between Somalilanders and Somalia 's refugees as a result of the bombings.

That fateful Wednesday on Oct 29 five near-simultaneous and apparently coordinated suicide attacks struck high-profile targets in Hargeysa and in Bosasso, the economic capital of the neighboring region of Puntland. In Hargeysa, the bombs targeted the presidential palace, the United Nations Development Programme's compound and Ethiopia 's diplomatic representation, killing over 24 people on the spot. According to medical sources, 6 of the injured died later in hospital, bringing to 30 the number of victims, in addition to the three bombers. At least 30 people are still being hospitalized with some evacuated to Djibouti for treatment.
