Sillanyo And Company Discredit The Judiciary To Protect Their Ill-Gotten Gains
|
The circular issued by Hargeysa Regional Court judge Ismail Ahmed Dalmar which the government used to justify its suspension and occupation of Haatuf’s premises is so bereft of any semblance of legal reasoning that it makes one wonder if Ismail Ahmed Dalmar had really studied law or what sort of legal school awarded him a degree. For one thing, the judge claims to have issued the circular based on a request by the CID department that Haatuf had published a series of articles defaming ministers and parliamentarians. The request further alleged that Haatuf Media had written that Bashe Awil (the president’s son-in-law) is the most powerful person in Somaliland’s government although he does not hold any official position in the government.

This thread is not whether Somaliland should go separate ways or join Somalia to make the perfect union, it is about people, good governance and development.
