Sillanyo And Company Discredit The Judiciary To Protect Their Ill-Gotten Gains

The circular issued by Hargeysa Regional Court judge Ismail Ahmed Dalmar which the government used to justify its suspension and occupation of Haatuf’s premises is so bereft of any semblance of legal reasoning that it makes one wonder if Ismail Ahmed Dalmar had really studied law or what sort of legal school awarded him a degree. For one thing, the judge claims to have issued the circular based on a request by the CID department that Haatuf had published a series of articles defaming ministers and parliamentarians. The request further alleged that Haatuf Media had written that Bashe Awil (the president’s son-in-law) is the most powerful person in Somaliland’s government although he does not hold any official position in the government.

Tower Hamlet’s Labor Party Moyoral Candidate Pledges To Recognize Somaliland If Elected

“Just like Sheffield, this is a victory for every Somalilander, but this is an example that shows how small campaign, by small number of people, can make a positive difference to our search for nationhood”.

Somaliland Needs Real Change

This thread is not whether Somaliland should go separate ways or join Somalia to make the perfect union, it is about people, good governance and development. Every citizen shall have a freedom, in accordance with the law, to express his opinions orally, visually, artistically or in writing or in any other ways.
No person may be arrested, searched, or detained, except when caught in flagrante delicto or on the issue of a reasoned arrested warrant by a competent judge.
Today is another black day for Somaliland free press. The Haatuf News was invaded by Somaliland police called Rapid Responses Unit (RRU). It is not the first time the Rapid Responses Unit invaded the compound of the free press properties. Last year Hubaal newspaper was invaded twice leading it to eventually close forever. I feel really sorry for them.
